The Art Show is where professional and amateur artists can showcase their anime, fantasy, and sci-fi-inspired works for convention attendees. Attendees are welcomed to browse the collected works. The Art Auction, on Sunday of the convention, is where attendees can bid on pieces in hopes of taking home some artwork.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Art Show Coordinator at: vanorahagen@starpower.net.

Bidder Rules | Rules for the Auction

Rules for Control and Bidders
  • YOUR ARTIST CONTROL NUMBER IS YOUR INITIALS FOLLOWED BY A NUMBER: An example is: Joe Smith's control number is JS1. If someone else checks in with same initials, such as Jane Silver, that person's control number would be JS2.

  • YOUR ITEM CONTROL NUMBER IS YOUR ARTIST CONTROL NUMBER DASH ITEM NUMBER: An example is: Joe Smith has six items. The first one has the Item Control number of JS1-1, the second is JS1-2, and so on. This number, along with your Artist Control Number, must be written on both the bid sheet and the control sheet.

  • CLEARLY PRINT ALL NECESSARY INFORMATION: Such as your name, address, title(s) of artwork, minimum bid/NFS, etc.: We need to be able to read these forms as much as you do so that we can keep track of the bidding and sales. PRESS FIRMLY WHEN FILLING OUT THE CONTROL SHEETS: these are triplicate carbon forms and need to be legible down to the last page. Don't put in an agent's name if you don't have one; an agent must put in the name of the artist he/she is representing.

  • PRINT YOUR LEGAL NAME IN THE "CHECK PAYABLE" LINE: Payment will be delayed if you don't put in your legal name, largely because the Art Show Director will have to track you down to obtain your legal name in order for the check to acceptable by your bank.

  • MINIMUM BIDS MUST BE IN WHOLE DOLLAR AMOUNTS: Trust us, it's easier for everyone.

  • DO NOT WRITE IN THE LAST THREE COLUMNS OF THE CONTROL SHEET: These columns are for Art Show Staff use only and are for the purpose of tracking bidding and sales (including unsold art) and tallying the artists' payment. Writing in these columns only confuses the record-keeping and may result in an incorrect record of sales and resulting payment.

  • IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU KEEP A TALLY OF THE BIDS PLACED ON YOUR ART: The checklist at the end of this section is for you to be able to keep tabs on which of your pieces are being sold. It's yet another way to cross-check with your control sheet as the convention progresses and keep all the paperwork consistent with itself.
Rules for the Auction
